Using LevelFour
FinOps Agent
Ask questions about your cloud spend, savings and commitments in plain language, in the dashboard, and approve a saving from the conversation.
The FinOps Agent answers questions about your organization's cloud spend in plain language. It reads the same costs, savings and commitments the dashboard shows, for your organization only, and answers with the figures and tables behind them.
Open the agent
There are three ways in:
- FinOps Agent in the dashboard sidebar opens it full screen.
- Ask the agent in the dashboard header opens it as a side panel next to the page you are on. Expand to full screen makes it the whole page, and Back to the side panel returns it.
- Ask FinOps Agent at the top of these docs opens it in the dashboard, in a new tab.
Leaving the page keeps the conversation and anything you had half typed.
Ask a question
Type a question the way you would ask a colleague. A new chat suggests a few to start with:
- What are we spending this month?
- Which services are driving our spend?
- What are our top 3 savings opportunities?
- How much could we save right now?
Opened next to a dashboard page, the agent can also suggest a question about that page.
Savings come back as a table you can open: Open saving takes you to the saving itself, and Open in Savings to the full list.
Choose the answer language
The agent answers in Match what I write by default, which replies in the language of your question. To pin a language, pick English, Português do Brasil or Español from the language menu in the chat, or under Settings > General > FinOps Agent.
The setting is yours alone: everyone in the organization sets their own. It changes the answers only. The rest of LevelFour stays in English, and figures stay in the currency your providers bill in.
Approve or reject a saving from the chat
Ask the agent to approve or reject a saving, or to walk through several one at a time, and it shows a decision card rather than acting on its own:
Read the card
The card names the saving, what it is worth each month, and the decision you asked for. For an approval it also asks how the change should be delivered.
Confirm or cancel
Click Approve or Reject to record it under your name, or cancel to leave the saving as it was.
Approving records the decision, and approves the change for rollout if a teammate requested one. Applying the change to your cloud account is a separate step, on the Savings page. Rejecting closes the saving and changes nothing in your cloud account.
When a delivery method needs something the chat cannot set up, such as cloud access or a repository, the card says so and sends you to the Savings page to finish.
Viewers can ask anything but cannot record a decision. The card tells them an admin records it, and they can raise it on the Savings page.
Your chats
The chat list keeps your conversations, grouped by date. From a chat's options you can Pin it, Rename it, Archive it or Delete it. Delete all chats clears the list.
Your chats are private to you. Nobody else in the organization can open them.
