Elastic Cloud

Elastic Consumption Units (ECU) are a usage measure, not your invoiced amount. One ECU is nominally $1.00, but ECU does not reflect prepaid discounts or currency conversion. Treat this data as an estimate of usage value, not a match to your bill.

Prerequisites

Elastic Cloud Hosted or Serverless.
An Organization owner, to create the API key with the Billing admin role.

Connect

Create an API key in Elastic Cloud

As an Organization owner, create an API key scoped to the Billing admin organization role, with an expiration of at most one year.

Copy the key and your Organization ID.

Add it to LevelFour

Open Connect Providers, select Elastic Cloud, and paste the key and Organization ID. Click Add API key.

Confirming it worked

The connection moves to Connected. Your first data appears within a day.

Rotating or removing access

Create a new API key in Elastic Cloud, paste it into Connect Providers, then delete the old key.

Removing access

Disconnect Elastic Cloud under Connect Providers, then delete the API key from Elastic Cloud's organization settings.

Troubleshooting

Symptom	What to do
Key creation is refused	Only an Organization owner can mint an API key, regardless of who holds the Billing admin role
ECU totals do not match your invoice	Expected. ECU measures usage value at a nominal $1.00 each and does not reflect prepaid discounts or currency conversion
The connection stops after about a year	API keys expire at whatever date you set, up to one year. Create a new one before it lapses
